The two concrete mass of exposed wood sits in the landscape of a suburban residential area, where the surroundings are used as cornfields. The design concept of the house aims to create a free and unrestrained space by transitioning the intersection of voids and different directions, which is generated by the movement of fish swimming. Although the composition of the unfinished concrete surface and the mass that is connected to it emphasizes the weight and materiality that is firmly fixed to the ground, the twist of the space and the unburdening of the mass, taking into account the surrounding landscape and the direction of the sun, reveal the solidity and dynamicity of the space at the same time. The zinc-plated steel plate roof adjusts the weight of the building appropriately, expressing a bright atmosphere. The upper mass of exposed wood reveals the typical image of residential housing, lifting up from the ground to differentiate commercial facilities from residential ones. As a commercial and residential building located in an independent form in the suburbs, it is hoped that it can be a meaningful and typical proposal for appropriate coordination between residence and workplace.
