The National Jinju Museum's new construction site, the former Jinju historical train station, served as the central hub for human and material exchange in the Gyeongnam region. However, it created a disconnect between the two sides of the city's urban organization due to the railway blocking the path. The elongated urban void resulting from the relocation of Jinju Station left a disparity in density and height on either side of the site. Our proposal envisions a museum complex that integrates with the downtown area, creating an expansive and free-flowing space with low density, resembling a welcoming village-like museum accessible to all. The aim is to bridge the gap between the two sides of the city's imbalanced development and awaken the potential derived from the existing urban context, in conjunction with the new culture-park complex zone. The developed downtown area on the east side and the low-rise residential area on the west side are connected through the open space of the museum program, allowing free movement through the ground level.
